Our most economical approach for suitable cabinets and a homeowner ready to take on the box preparation and painting. You contribute the labor at home; we bring the professional shop-applied spray finish to the doors. Final cost depends on condition and agreed scope.

Check the fit first.
We review photos, condition, existing coatings and the scope before you begin. Older or unknown coatings need evaluation before disturbance.

Bring us the doors.
After the project is approved, you remove and bring the doors to our shop. Labeling, packing and transport details are agreed before starting.
- 03 / Working in parallel
Two jobs. One plan.
We prepare the doors and apply a sprayed-on coating in a controlled environment at our shop. You prepare and paint the boxes using the agreed compatible materials and instructions. The kit and video are still being developed.
- 04 / Back together
Finish with clarity.
We agree on pickup, handling, cure time and reinstallation responsibilities in writing. Drawer fronts, hardware and repairs are confirmed separately.

Prefer a flat-pack kitchen? You can explore a supplier’s planning tools, including IKEA’s, select your cabinets, purchase them directly and arrange delivery to your home.
We can discuss consultation, assembly and installation as a separate quote. Review the plan and site conditions with us before ordering so measurements, needed parts and the work are understood.
Delivery availability and costs are determined by the supplier. Southern Changes is independent of IKEA. Demolition, disposal, countertops, plumbing, electrical work and appliance connections are not automatically included.

A loose or damaged component, a tired finish and a layout that doesn’t work are different issues. We’ll discuss repairs and practical improvements alongside appearance, then spell out what is included. Structural, plumbing and electrical changes are separate scope decisions, not assumed extras in a cabinet refresh.

Which option costs the least?
For suitable cabinets, Hybrid is designed to be our most economical approach: you do the cabinet-box preparation and painting, and we prepare and spray the doors. We still compare the actual condition, materials and scope before quoting. Repairs or a smaller refinishing scope can change the comparison; there is no universal price or savings guarantee.
Is Hybrid ready to order?
Not as a boxed product. We’re introducing the approach and developing the materials kit, written instructions and video. You can ask about suitability now; readiness, coating choices, responsibilities and pricing must be confirmed before a project is accepted.
Can I start sanding or removing doors now?
Please wait for a condition and coating review. Cleaning does not by itself guarantee adhesion. Preparation must suit the surface and coating system. Old or unknown coatings may require qualified testing before disturbance. We do not refinish or repaint lead-positive cabinets. Read our cabinet lead policy.
Will sprayed doors match homeowner-painted boxes?
We plan compatible colors and finishes, but spray and hand application can have different texture and appearance. Preparation and application matter. We’ll explain expectations, product instructions and responsibility for each part before work starts.
Do I have to replace everything?
No. We can discuss retaining suitable cabinets and working around the larger needs of the house. Repairs, new hardware, drawer fronts, countertops and other changes are included only when they appear in the agreed scope.
How do I get a quote?
Start with your town, a few photos and what you want to change. We review fit and next steps before a written quote. A conversation is not a booking, and a consultation does not authorize purchases or work.
